Awkward & Awesome.

Awkward:

Having a great in depth conversation with new friends at lunch, only to realize when you get back to your desk you have chip crumbs all over your shirt. Thank you cheddar and sour cream chips, way to make a great impression on my new friends.

Talking, almost to the point of yelling, at objects such as my cell phone, purse, or whatever else is causing me a fit out in public.

Realizing I did not tweet all day long. Weird.

My room..still.

Attempting an outfit post. Not.

How hot it has been lately. Sticky. Humid. Muggy. Gross.

My fear of shopping for baby clothes for my friends and have a stranger ask you “When are you do?”..uh I am not “do.”

Being carded at the movies for a PG-13 film. Really? I will be 20 soon.

Showing up to work on time the day you told your boss you were going to be late do to a visit to the orthodontist. Ya, I forgot about that appointment. Hopefully when I reschedule my check up I will show up there and not to work.

Awesome:

HARRY POTTER! HARRY POTTER! HARRY POTTER! HARRY POTTER!

The US Women’s Soccer Team beating Brazil in shootouts. On that note, Abby Wambach and Hope Solo are pretty freaking awesome too!

My work providing fresh fruits such as bananas (my favorite), peaches, apples, grapes, oranges, and plums all day long, and lemonade made daily.

How every time I spell out the word banana I always do it with a Gwen Stefani Hollaback Girl tune..this sh*t is bananas b-a-n-a-n-a-s. (this could possibly also fall under awkward).

Finally painting my finger/toenails for the first time in forever. It was getting embarrassing, but now they are pretty in pink.

Even though it has been hot it gives me an excellent reason to lounge around in the pool.

Wine and cheese night with all of the girls this weekend!

Secretly planning my mom’s 50th surprise birthday party with my dad (who is not good at planning, so that is where I come in). Thankfully she does not blog, so shhh don’t tell anyone.

The movie Grease. I love this movie, and it has been awhile since I have watched it last.

Awkward:

Backing up into your father’s car..in the driveway.

Waving at someone that does not see you so they do not wave back..and other people noticed the diss.

Seeing a grown woman wearing clear, plastic, light up heels at the fireworks.

People with terrible customer service skills who are trying to help you in the store, so basically you have to do their job for them.

Mushroom clouds at the end of firework displays.

Me going on a killing wasp rampage when I am trying to get my tan on.

How terrible I played in cornhole over the weekend.

Getting my days mixed up since I was off on Monday (not complaining though).

When something in your car flies out your car window while driving..oops.

Awesome:

Everything that has to do with the 4th of July.

The little boy that was sitting behind my gals and I at the firework display, he was too cute. “Dad, these fireworks are like the ones in New York!”..”Yeah they are buddy, but you have never been to New York.”

Realize that you left for work a whole hour and a half early so you go shopping to buy time.

Pineapple Mango smoothies.

Days off on a Saturday.

John Butler Trio, thank you Kate and Lissa for introducing them to me.

Going shopping with your mom.

Buying new soccer cleats. Ah! I cannot wait until they come in.

Having an absolutely lazy day by doing absolutely nothing all day long.

This whole off on Monday thing threw me off of my game. Only a day late this time! Much better. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Awkward:

Saying something and then thinking right after it, “Why did I say that?” #wordvomit.

When the lanes merge from two lanes to one and no one will let you over, so you sit there with your blinker on for what seems like ages.

Having a creepy man come up behind you and whisper in your ear, “That’s a nice dress,” while waiting to pick up your lunch.

People when they express their love for boyfriend/girlfriend..every day..multiple times a day.

The way I laugh when someone tickles me.

Working out at the gym when no one else is there.

Getting hit on at work, to only then tell them who my father is.

The current state of my room. It is a hot mess.

Asking someone for Advil and them automatically assuming I am hungover by say, “Long night last night huh?” (Actually no, I just have a headache and I want it gone. NOW!)

Awesome:

The way my face feels after I wash it. Sometimes I even will walk quickly down my hallway in order to feel the cool tingle.

Getting coupons sent to you via email at work.

Playing in your high school alumni soccer game, and winning.

Getting so much stuff accomplished at work that you are now far ahead.

Eating at a place that has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

It being the start of a new month, and a three day weekend! Yay for holidays!

Lemonade in the summer.

Listening to old favorite bands, like Fall Out Boy, for the first time in forever.

Ordering your food in the drive thru and receiving your food in what feels likes record time.

I know this is late. Please forgive me. Better late than never..right?

Awkward:

When I get poked by a creepy old man on Facebook.

The way you walk around right after you paint your nails so you don’t mess them up.

On that note, how terrible my nails look when I am finished with them. They look like a toddler did each one. I just need to stick to a professional.

When I ask someone if they like it here (their job) and they respond, “Yeah for the most part, just my boss is a dick.” Then come to find out…my dad is their boss.

How I don’t respond when someone tells me it looks like I had a rough morning.

Having a conversation that is blanketed by music..for only the song to change and you are caught mid-sentence during the brief silence.

Me walking around the office trying to find a stapler.

The noises I make when I am lifting weights.

Running into the girl who was the reason for my most recent breakup with my ex.

Awesome:

Waking up rested to start my day off with a morning run.

Sleeping with the windows open at night and letting the natural cool air control the temperature in my room.

When my boss tells me I did an awesome job after a completed assignment (Yes! I can finally breathe again).

Finally being able to spend the night with friends since now the real working world consumes our lives.

Catching up on some much needed sleep.

When I find a close parking space in the lot at work.

Having the best night that I have had in awhile, and getting away with it.

In depth discussions about religion and such around the campfire.

My mom. The end.

Awkward:

Answering your cell phone like you answer the phone at work, “Hello, this is _______. Thank you for calling _______. What can I do for you today?”

Choosing between letting someone know their butt is hanging out of their jeans as they are bending over or just not say a word.

Burning your neck on a curling iron and it ironically resembles a hickey.

Searching everywhere for an item in your closet then blame it on someone for taking it, only to realize you find it hanging in there later on.

Trying to park your car and have to straighten it out multiple time, and grabbing the attention of onlookers.

When you tell your parents you are at a friends out, and then your parents just happen to run into that exact friend.

This girl’s habit of eating chalk.

The moment when you continue to smell something bad so you self consciously start believing it is you.

When you go to get a pedicure and its been awhile..enough said.

Awesome:

The raspberry fruit smoothie I made myself the other night at midnight! (Photos will be uploaded later).

Waking up early to go for a run, and love it. Even if it kills you later on, at the time it felt absolutely great.

Being able to quote an entire movie with a group of friends.

Listening to Like It’s Quidditch while making chocolate chip cookie dough with my best friend.

Seeing three movies in the theater in a weeks time.

When I found someone that loves the movie Steel Magnolias as much as I do.

Sunday dinner with my family. This sunday consisted of ribs, corn, mac and cheese, bread rolls, baked beans, macaroni salad, and fried potatos.

The feeling you get when you finish a project.

How great the weather has been outside, no more rain, just straight sunshine.

All of the fresh fruit that are in season during the summer. Fruit on a hot summer day is my favorite!
